[Souji has been wondering the same thing. First as a friend- when he arrived in Inaba all the way back, he didn't expect it to be different than the usual. Just going through motions until time goes up and he has to go back to his parents.
But in comes the Magician, crashes into a trashcan and just magically changes and colors his world. Even if they didn't end up the way they did, Souji would've been happy. Having Yosuke next to himself is all that matters. He's not sure what he'd do without his support.
When he hears the door open, he opens his mouth to call out the greeting but then pauses as he sees that Yosuke's a bit of a mess.]
